Parish Life Committee helps fulfill the parish mission through ministries of community building. This committee plans, promotes, and coordinates activities that bring parishioners together for mutual support, spiritual growth, and celebration to build a sense of community among the members. Our Christian community reaches out to all ages and to those with special challenges.
Hospitality Weekend – The first weekend of every month, St. Joseph’s treats its parishioners after Mass to cheese, crackers and wine Saturday evenings and on Sunday – donuts, juice and coffee. Volunteers start preparing before Mass and help serve immediately following Mass.
St. Joseph’s Feast Day – Our church celebrates its feast day on or around March 19th in honor of St. Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus. All parishioners and their families are encouraged to bring a dish to pass at the potluck feast. St. Joseph Parish provides a main dish to compliment the meal. Event is held in the Parish Center.
Special Events– Throughout the year Parish Life tries to provide adult, children, and family entertainment which have included: roller skating, bowling, Packer parties, trips to Noah’s Ark Water Park and Great America, camping, sledding, dances, and team sports such as volleyball and softball. New ideas always welcome.
Parish Life Fundraising
We seek to connect the parish to the larger community through our fundraising events using the time, talent and treasurers of our members. All parishioners are encouraged to be involved in the planning and implementing phases of our parish fundraisers. Planning begins 4-6 months prior to the event.
Casino Night – Parish adults and friends gamble up some good times at this annual fundraiser held in February. A fun theme is created around a Casino atmosphere. Black Jack, craps, and roulette are featured at the event. Admission tickets are sent to each parishioner. A live auction, casino store and food are also made available. Planning for the event starts at the October monthly meeting.
Chicken Dinner – Our largest fundraiser of the year is held on the parish grounds the first Sunday in June. Attendees purchase tickets for a meal which includes open-pit roasted chicken, coleslaw, roll, and dessert. The day’s events include numerous raffle prizes, kids’ activities and warm hospitality. Planning for this event begins in
